Our practice is only as great as our team, and we have
worked to maintain a dedicated staff committed to the
success of our patients.
Our Doctors
introduced to a life long love of science. He graduated Cum Laude
from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio-
Dental School in 1998 after receiving numerous academic awards. In
addition, it was at the UTHSC-SA where he continued his scientific
studies in Bone and Mineral research culminating in several
publications and recognition by the International Association of Dental
Research-Hatton Award Committee.
Dr. Mazock then joined the United States Navy and completed advanced
training in General Dentistry while serving with the 2nd Marine
Expeditionary Forces at Camp Lejuene, NC. Shortly after, Dr. Mazock
began his Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery training at Baylor University
Medical Center and Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas Texas. He
continued to stay involved with research and co-authored many surgical
articles on bone grafting and trauma.
Dr. Mazock returned to Active duty in the US Navy and was stationed
at Naval Hospital Rota, Spain and Naval Hospital Naples, Italy where he
served as a Flight Surgeon for the NASA Space Shuttle recovery
program (STS-114) and was honorably discharged after 10 years of
dedicated service. During this time he successfully challenged the
American Board of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery and is now a Diplomat
of the ABOMS. He is a Fellow of AAOMS and a member of the
Academy of Osseointegration as well as many other societies.
Dr. Mazock has lectured nationally and internationally on various oral
& maxillofacial surgery topics and has a passion for continued
education in bone biology and dental implantology.
Dr. Mazock is involved with several community organizations including
serving as an Ambassador for the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo
including being a member of it's Medical Committee, the Sons of the
Republic of Texas, is a Director for the San Antonio District Dental
Society, serves on the UTHSCSA - Dental School Alumni Board, and is
a member of South Texas Oral Health Network. In his free time he
volunteers with the San Antonio Area Give Kids a Smile program, at
the Haven for Hope's San Antonio Christian Dental Clinic, and
volunteers at the San Antonio Conservation Society's annual NIOSA
for Fiesta.
Dr. Mazock loves his time with his wife of 15 years, Angela, also a
native San Antonian, and their two daughters, Taylor and Addison.
Angela also serves as an Ambassador for the San Antonio Stock Show
& Rodeo, additionally she is an Executive Board Member of the
Alliance to the San Antonio District Dental Society and serves on the
Incarnate Word High School Alumnae Advisory Board.
The Mazock's enjoy golfing, mountain bike riding, fishing, hunting,
white water rafting and spending time outdoors.



James B. Mazock, D.D.S.
Dr. Mazock is the newest addition to our team and
is a native San Antonian. After completing his
undergraduate degree in Clinical Laboratory
Sciences from the University of Texas, he earned
his MT from the American Society of Clinical
Pathologists. He then entered graduate school,
studying Neuropharmacology where he was
